When my player dies there is a brief period of a black screen before the GameOver scene loads. During that brief time the button that calls my menu shows up and the minimap I'm using right now shows up and if the player taps on the menu button the game freezes.

Is there some code I can put on those that would prevent the player from interacting with them in that brief black moment? You can tap on the minimap all you want and the game won't freeze but tap on the button that calls the menu and poof----you're frozen. I just don't think it's nice that the minimap still shows up when you're dead. : )

Right now my button that calls the menu has this code---

using UnityEngine;
using System.Collections;

public class myEquipButton : MonoBehaviour {

public Texture2D icon;

void OnGUI() {

if(GameHandler.IsControlField() && !(GameHandler.IsGamePaused()) && GUI.Button (new Rect (300, 10, 100, 100), icon)) {

MenuHandler.GetObject().SetActiveScreen(0, true);

Thanks for any help.
